Sara’s Maternity Benefits Journey

  • During open enrollment Sara takes the Upwise survey and indicates she plans to have a baby. Upwise recommends enrolling in Hospital Indemnity coverage.
  • When medical and pharmacy claims data is enabled and Sara’s pregnancy is confirmed, Upwise notifies Sara of valuable tools and resources she can access via her workplace that can help during her pregnancy.
  • Throughout her pregnancy, Sara continues to receive Upwise communications with useful tips to keep in mind before the baby arrives, such as:
    • Planning her leave from work
    • Adding the baby to medical plan
    • Updating beneficiaries
  • Sara delivers her baby and Upwise notifies her that she may be eligible for a Hospital Indemnity benefit
  • After the baby’s arrival, Upwise connects Sara with resources or programs available through her benefits that can help with her newborn.
